1. Service Description

AlterIMG provides a suite of online tools for file processing, including but not limited to:

• Image Tools: Format conversion, batch conversion, resizing, cropping, compression, rotation/flip, privacy blur, metadata viewing/stripping, watermarking, Smart Asset Pack export, and batch renaming.
• PDF Tools: PDF to image conversion, PDF merging, splitting, rotating, compressing, and watermarking.
• File Sharing: Share Link generation with time-limited download URLs, download tracking, and optional branding.

Tools and features are available at varying levels depending on your account tier.

2. Account Tiers & Access

AlterIMG offers three access levels:

Google authentication is required for Registered and Pro tiers. Pro features require an active, paid subscription. We reserve the right to modify tier features with reasonable notice.

3. Acceptable Use

You are responsible for all content you upload and process. You agree to:

• Only upload files you own or have the legal right to use.
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Not upload illegal, obscene, defamatory, or harmful content.
• Not distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code.
• Not attempt to circumvent rate limits, usage quotas, or access controls.
• Not reverse engineer, scrape, or automated bulk-access our APIs or tools.
• Not use the service to infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without notice.

4. File Handling & Retention

• Standard uploads: Automatically deleted after 24 hours.
• Tool outputs (converted files, ZIPs): Automatically deleted after 7 days.
• Share Links: Retained based on your plan (up to 7 days for Pro), then permanently deleted.
• Manual deletion: You may delete any of your files at any time using the provided delete controls.

We do not guarantee indefinite availability of processed files. You are responsible for downloading outputs before they expire.

5. Share Link Service

• Share Links provide time-limited download URLs for your files.
• Files may be securely proxied through third-party storage providers (e.g., Google Drive) managed by AlterIMG.
• Your personal Google credentials are never exposed to or stored by third-party storage systems.
• Pro users sharing files larger than 10 GB may be subject to a 7-day cooldown period per file to ensure fair usage of bandwidth and storage resources.
• You are responsible for the content you share. Do not use Share Links to distribute illegal or copyrighted material.

6. Intellectual Property

Your content: You retain all ownership rights to files you upload. AlterIMG does not claim any ownership over your uploaded content.

Our platform: The AlterIMG name, logo, website design, code, and all associated materials are the intellectual property of AlterIMG. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works of our platform without express written permission.

Open-source components: Some tools may use open-source libraries. Their respective licenses apply independently.

7. Payment & Subscriptions

• Pro subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually).
• Payment is processed by our third-party payment provider. We do not store your credit card details.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access to Pro features will continue until the end of your current billing period.
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us at support@alterimg.com for refund requests.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

8. Conversion Output & Limitations

All conversion output is provided "as-is". While we strive for high-quality results:

• We do not guarantee that converted files will meet all workflow or compatibility requirements.
• Quality may vary depending on source file quality, format, and conversion parameters.
• PDF operations depend on the structure and complexity of the input PDF.
• Batch processing results may vary across different file types and sizes.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• AlterIMG is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
• We are not liable for data loss resulting from file expiration, system failures, or service interruptions.
• Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold AlterIMG and its operators harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the service.
• Your violation of these Terms.
• Your infringement of any third-party rights.
• Content you upload, process, or share through AlterIMG.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted with a new "Last updated" date. For subscribers, we will provide at least 30 days' notice of significant changes. Continued use of AlterIMG after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of AlterIMG shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal proceedings.
